China Electric Machines Recognized by South Asian Energy Giant Again for Efficient Operation of Green Infrastructure
In the dense hydropower network of Sri Lanka, 13 small hydropower plants operated by a private energy company continue to inject development momentum into Ratnapura, Badulla, and other areas. Since 2012, the company has been using our energy-efficient three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors (Standard No. JB/F8680-2008), which do not generate electricity directly but drive industrial motors for water pipelines, turbine speed control, and cooling systems, to ensure efficient operation of its renewable energy facilities, which have a total installed capacity of 43.4 megawatts (MW). By reducing the power consumption of the motors themselves, the overall energy efficiency of the plant is inversely increased, resulting in significant savings in electricity costs.
Time Witnesses Quality: Durable Answers in the Tropical Rainforest
The first batch of motors delivered in 2012, under extreme working conditions such as high temperature and high humidity, rainy season flooding, and other extreme conditions, have a cumulative total of more than 50,000 hours of trouble-free operation, supporting the stability of the key auxiliary system of the power station by 40%, and extending the maintenance cycle far beyond the industry average. This “invisible guardian” role directly helps customers effectively reduce average annual operation and maintenance costs.
Renewed Trust: Intelligent Upgrade Activates System Potential
In 2023, the customer re-introduced our new high-torque inverter motors to upgrade the pressure piping and turbine speed control systems in hydropower stations. The new equipment is equipped with vibration sensing and dynamic compensation technology, which reduces energy consumption and the risk of unplanned downtime compared with traditional motors. Feedback from the customer's technical team: “China Motor's environmental adaptability and full life-cycle services are the key to our 15-year partnership.”
China's Solution: Making Energy Infrastructure “More Stable”
In the wave of clean energy transformation in Southeast Asia, the reliability of industrial motors is directly related to the safety and economy of power plant operations. We are deeply involved in overseas infrastructure with customized power solutions, and so far we have provided “non-power generation” equipment support for 40+ hydropower plants in many countries, guarding the birth of every green power with Chinese intellectual property.
The customer said, “These motors are like silent ‘power-saving housekeepers’ - the less power they consume, the more green power the power station will leave for the grid. The Chinese team even optimized start-stop strategies for us during peak and valley tariffs, which is a value never offered by local suppliers.” (shared anonymously by a power plant operations director)
